Moving Pictures
February 1, 2011We didn’t hire a videographer for our own wedding, and it’s probably my only regret about the day. I know I’m a still photographer and I should only push for that, but I do wish we had captured just a bit of the movement of the day. We did shoot some Super 8 film but still(!) haven’t developed it! If only I’d hired one of these companies. They do awesome work!
Elysium Productions‘ demo reel made me cry, for seriously. Try and watch just a little, I dare you. It is hard to find wedding films that aren’t a cheesy or old-fashioned but I really think they’ve nailed the balance between fun, energy and romance. Right on!
Hello Super 8 shoots only on Super 8 film which is lovely and gorgeous and without sound. The films are beautiful and artistic and simply classic.
Jay and Monica’s Engagement Video
May 6, 2010One last treat from this awesome engagement session in Philadelphia. A video! We’re starting to shoot more and more video for editorial clients these days, but this was just for fun. The music was actually chosen by Monica and I think it’s totally, completely perfect.
The Crazy Booth
February 5, 2010Even for two photographers getting married, we had an abundance of cameras at our wedding. Besides our official photographers (the amazing Gabriel Boone), we had our photographer friends with film cameras, toy cameras and super 8 movie cameras. But by far the biggest hit at our wedding was the Crazy Booth. We wanted to give our guests a place to cut loose and go nuts. And we wanted a photographic record of it. This worked out big time. People are still asking me about it and checking out the video.
We loved it so much that we’ve decided to offer it to our clients as well. Each Crazy Booth comes with a box full of props and a dedicated staff member. This person’s job is to make sure your guests get bonkers in front of the camera. We can customize with different backgrounds, and props too. We invited the Obamas to our wedding, but we had to settle for a cut-out. I think maybe he was more fun than the real one would have been. And after the wedding we’ll even set the entire set of photos to the music of your choice. Ask us how to add the Crazy Booth to your wedding!
